Dear Stanford Families,
We are delighted to invite you to Family Weekend at Stanford on February 23-24, 2024. Family Weekend is an annual tradition that provides special opportunities for family members of current undergraduates to spend time with students, their friends, and other families on the Farm. You can get a taste of campus life, see where your students take classes and socialize, and enjoy unique programs specifically for families.
Registration, which is complimentary but required, opens today and closes Friday, February 16, 2024. Registration confirms your Family Weekend access badge that will be distributed upon check-in and will provide access to official events, residence halls, receptions and special meals.
Here are some highlights of what’s in store:
- A welcome session with new President Richard Saller and Provost Jenny Martinez
- Free lunch on Friday with your student at their dining hall
- The University Resource Fair on Saturday morning, with opportunities to connect with representatives from campus groups and departments
- Special panel discussions and talks with faculty and other campus leaders
- Residential neighborhood receptions, where you can meet your student’s roommates, families, and university residential staff
- Community and student center open houses
- Return of the closing outdoor festival for families and students on Saturday afternoon
- Self-guided tours and visits to the Main Quad, Hoover Tower, Memorial Church, the Dish, and other iconic spots across campus
- Cardinal sporting events, exhibits at campus museums, and live performances
- Informal activities with your students and other families after official programming ends at 5 p.m. Saturday
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: Online registration is required by February 16th at 11:59 p.m. for everyone attending. On-site, walk-up registration will not be available. Check-in begins 8:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23 at the Arrillaga Center for Sports & Recreation, where you will be able to pick up Family Weekend access badges – which are required for anyone attending official events and visiting dorms and dining halls. You will also receive a special program brochure, with maps, timelines, and access codes for your use during the weekend.
